Ellzey Supports Wray In Republican Primary

Former adversaries joined forces today as Jake Ellzey endorsed John Wray for Texas House in the Republican Primary to pick a representative for Texas House District 10.

A retired U.S. Navy fighter pilot, Ellzey placed third in the election to replace retiring State Representative Jim Pitts. Ellzey and Wray combined for more than half of the vote in the March 4th District 10 Republican primary.

Wray, the Mayor of Waxahachie, is seeking the seat that covers Ellis County and part of Henderson County.  The runoff will be held on May 27.

“For nearly half a year, I have had the opportunity to see all the candidates up close.  I am very proud to endorse John Wray and encourage all my supporters to back John as well,” Ellzey said.  “John will make a great representative.”

“I am proud to have the support of Jake Ellzey,” Wray said.  “We were adversaries in the context of the election, but we have become friends. Any candidate would be fortunate to have such a crucial endorsement.  Jake has given me incredible momentum going into the runoff.”

John Wray is a fiscal and pro-family conservative who has served on the Waxahachie City Council for six years.  Wray wants to take his conservative values to Austin and he sees many dangers facing our state in upcoming years.

Wray is a graduate of Texas A&M University and the University Of Texas School Of Law.  He is an attorney serving small businesses and families in Ellis County.  John also co-owns a small title company in Ellis County.  Wray is active in the community and frequently gives his time to civic and charitable organizations.  John and his wife, Michele, have two children, Morgan and Patrick.  They attend First United Methodist Church.
