Charter Supports Waxahachie High School Students with Project Graduation Donation

Charter Communications (NASDAQ: CHTR) is helping to provide safe graduation night festivities for hundreds of Waxahachie High School and High School of Choice students with a $1,000 donation to Waxahachie High School Project Graduation 2014.

The June 6 event features an all-night lock-in at Waxahachie Civic Center for about 500 teens from Waxahachie High School and High School of Choice. With food, games and prizes, the event provides students with a safe, monitored, drug and alcohol-free environment for commemorating their educational accomplishments.

“Graduation night is a time for excitement and celebration,” said Kevin Allen, vice president and general manager for Charter’s Texas market. “Charter is pleased to support Project Graduation’s goal of providing a fun and responsible way to congratulate the Class of 2014.”

Jennifer Dacy, president of WHS Project Graduation 2014, said community financial support is vital to making Project Graduation a success. As a non-profit organization run by parent volunteers, Project Graduation receives no funding from the school district. The annual event is made possible only through donations and fund-raising activities.

“We appreciate Charter Communications joining us in this cause,” Dacy said. “This is an extremely generous donation that will help us a great deal as we raise money for the many expenses associated with putting on an event like ours.”
